Live Well: Water Well Program
Everyone deserves access to clean, drinkable water.
The need for clean water is paramount throughout the Democratic Republic of Congo. According to the United Nations, half of Congo’s 80 million population have no access to safe drinking water. There have been deaths attributed to waterborne illness, including cholera, typhoid, and dysentery. At any given time, 1 in 5 children are sick with a deadly waterborne illness.
Through our Live Well: Water Well Program, the people of Congo are provided with safe and accessible water. To date, we have installed a total of 61 water wells. Each well produces four cubic meters of water per well, equaling 4,000 liters of water daily. That’s enough for 2,000 people per day.
