A Journey of Perseverance: Chance Shuda Bijoux
Meet Chance.
Chance’s life is a testament to resilience and hope. Abandoned by her mother as a baby and raised by a father battling serious illness, she grew up in extreme poverty. Unable to afford middle school, she fell years behind in her education. With the help of her local church, she eventually graduated high school at the age of 22.
Although and determined, college seemed impossible. That changed when she discovered City of Refuge International’s Scholarship Program. With faith and perseverance, she applied and was awarded a scholarship to study nursing.
Four years later, Chance earned her bachelor’s degree. Today, she is working toward her master’s degree and is determined to serve her community through her profession. CORI helped her build a future she once only dreamed of.
You can help make stories like Chance’s possible.
